Central Virginia needs Unitarian Universalism. It needs our gifts of labor, love, and money. Without these, our vision can neither go out into the community, nor help to change it. We welcome your participation in helping Unitarian Universalism reach out and grow. There are two ways you can financially support the work of our church.
FIRST UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST CHURCH: Contributions to the First Unitarian Universalist Church may be spent directly. They may be used to fund the operating budget, to fund a special project, or to fund a special purchase for the church.
Contributions to the church may also be set aside and saved to be spent as needed at a future date. (FYI: Membership pledges – see Stewardship – are always earmarked for the church’s operating expenses.)
FIRST UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST CHURCH ENDOWMENT: Contributions to the church endowment will never be spent. Rather these contributions are invested and only the earnings from the investments can be spent.
An easy way to think of the difference between the above is that a contribution to the church helps the church’s present well-being while a contribution to the church’s endowment helps the church’s future well-being.
If you wish to make a cash contribution please make your check out to either First Unitarian Universalist Church or First Unitarian Universalist Church Endowment Fund. You may either drop your check off at the church or mail it to:
First Unitarian Universalist Church
1000 Blanton Avenue
Richmond, VA 23221
Please also consider asking others to make a contribution to the church or church endowment in lieu of gifts or flowers for special occasions such as weddings, funerals or memorial services.
