Diane Woodruff, Director of Music
Diane just retired from teaching music in public schools for more than 30 years in Illinois and Virginia.
Before coming to First U.U., she was the choir director at two U.U. churches – First Congregational Universalist Church of Woodstock (Ill.) and the Unitarian Universalist Church of Bloomington (Ill). She was co-founder and director of Cantus Novus, a 24 voice-auditioned chorale. Other experience includes music director, Godspell, and The Sound of Music, at the Woodstock (Ill.) Opera House. She’s also been a member of many community chorales, and has been a church soloist.
Diane enjoys spending time with friends, sewing and quilting, swimming, playing golf, duplicate bridge, walking, reading, concert and theatre going. She and her husband, Arnold, have two sons.
