Diane Woodruff, Director of Music
Diane holds a B.S. in Education (Music) from Northern Illinois University and has taught public school music for 25 years. She returned to the classroom last fall teaching music at Bensley Elementary School.
Previously, she was choir director for two UU churches — Congregational-Universalist Church of Woodstock (IL), 13 years; Bloomington-Normal Unitarian Universalist Church (IL), 5 years. While living in Normal, IL, she was a co-founder and director of a 24-voice auditioned chorale, Cantus Novus, from 2001 – 2004.
Other musical experiences include: Music Director, Godspell and The Sound of Music, Woodstock (IL) Opera House Vocal Director, Paradise People, annual musical revue fundraiser, Congregational-Universalist Church of Woodstock (IL) Chorale Member, Woodstock Fine Arts Chorale, Arlington Metropolitan Chorus (VA) Soloist, First Church of Christ, Scientist in Woodbridge, VA.
Diane enjoys quilting and other sewing projects, duplicate bridge, golf and swimming, walking, reading, concert and theatre going. She and husband, Arnold, have been married for 35 years and have two sons.
